iC / PAVE / iC-A VÖLKEL Navigators, the flexible digitalization of your machine park. Each VÖLKEL Navigator can be used with all three applications: - the CCC Navigator for earthmoving rollers - the PAVE Navigator for asphalt pavers, (this can optionally be supplemented with a LOGISTIC solution) - the CCC-A navigator for asphalt rollers The corresponding application is started depending on the intended use. The VÖLKEL Navigator basically consists of a Navigator set (display and GNSS RTK receiver with LTE modem in a robust hard-shell case), the setup-package (intelligent node and display quick changer) as well as optional sensors accessories and the all-in-one tool CompactDoc, which is supported by the Navigator Web app. For the PAVE navigator, we also offer a PAVE kit (lowerable sensor carrier with surface temperature sensor and optional weather station), on which the GNSS receiver with modem from the navigator set can also be mounted. Thanks to the clear separation of setup-package and Navigator set, you can pre-fit all machines as required and adapt your fleet to the respective requirements. This means you can use any Navigator set on any machine (whether earthworks, asphalt roller or Paver). All machine-specific settings are saved in the intelligent node.

How do your solutions meet market needs and what concrete benefits do they offer customers, operators, and infrastructure managers?

The VÖLKEL Navigator supports the site manager in compacting the earth layers and planning the quantity of asphalt, logistics, the temperature balance from the asphalt mixing plant to the rollers, compaction control and, last but not least, documentation of the entire paving process. Using the CompactDoc software for PCs and laptops, supported by a browser-based Navigator Web app, the construction drawing and measurements are loaded into a project, the machines and navigators are commissioned, set values are set and the entire project is evaluated – prepared for the client and for training the installation team. It has been shown that what is measured and recorded is done. Users of the VÖLKEL Navigator do not see it as a control mechanism, but as an incentive to improve their own working methods. The Navigator has a fully modular design and can be used as a PAVE, iC-A or iC-Navigator, depending on the machine. The PAVE Navigator is also supplemented by a logistics solution. Our Navigator provides a server API for process control providers. Both individual machines and all machines involved in asphalt paving can be equipped. The central measured value on a machine is its GNSS position. All other sensors for temperature and compaction measurement or volume determination as well as weather and ambient data can be optionally installed. Also for low temperature asphalt (LTA).
